Christmas session

Well, I think I was somehow pulled into the whirlwind of holiday preparations and excitement, and fell woefully behind on keeping up with my blog.  It was a fun month here, though. :)
I love everything about Christmas, from the baking to the shopping to the music to the family time...
and remembering once again God's beautiful love for each of us,
and Christ's sacrifice in coming to this earth.

I couldn't let the season completely go by without posting several pictures from a session I did last week,
at Phipps Conservatory.  I had the privilege of meeting this family back in the summer, and was thrilled to do another session with them.  They're all so adorable, and each one has gorgeous blue eyes...and I've always wanted to do a photo session at Phipps.  We had fun. :)

And here's one more to close with - even though this one isn't exactly the pose we were looking for,
I love the fun in it, and how each personality started coming out.  This was towards the end of smiling and posing for number of previous pictures, and they all did so well...

Happy New Year to all of you!

Deuteronomy 16:15

"For the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest
and in all the work of your hands, and your {joy} will be complete."
                                                                                              -Deuteronomy 16:15

May your joy be complete this Thanksgiving week as you consider all God has done on your behalf,
and thank Him for His countless blessings.

Caroline - {Nursing School Graduation}

Several days ago, Caroline and I decided to take advantage of one of the few warm and sunny afternoons left here in Pittsburgh before winter comes to stay for a while. :)
Caroline just graduated as an RN from St. Margaret's School of Nursing.
She did it in 18 months, which is a huge achievement...
and I was very happy to do this photo session with her to help commemorate the occasion.
We started off in the train station downtown, and just wandered around for a while, looking for good spots.
We had lots fun, of course :)

Caroline, I'm so grateful to God that He's allowed us to walk together as friends these past years.
Your friendship has blessed me more times than I can say, and I'm so excited for you in this next season of life, as you begin your job and discover all that He has in store for you.
Love you, dear sister...

Fall Family Session

I love it when I get to photograph adorable little babies and toddlers.

I had done a session with this little guy and his cousins back in the summer, so it was fun to see them again, and how much he's grown since then (and how fast he can run now :).
This was a fun fall afternoon session with a beautiful family...

Elizabeth - Class of '12

I have to say this photo session was one of the most eventful sessions I've ever done,
involving several mishaps throughout the several hours we were shooting.  Thankfully, no one was hurt :)
and we had a lot of fun in spite of it all.
It was a privilege for me to do Elizabeth's senior portraits...she is a fellow photographer,
and we have done several weddings together this past year (check out her blog here).
She has a beautiful heart of love for the Lord and for her family, and enjoys spending time on their farm.
Her pictures were taken at several locations, including Buttermilk Falls, and on the family's farm.

Thanks for letting me do your pictures Liz!!  I so appreciate your friendship, and the times we've had to talk photography together (sorry I'm not as informed on the hockey subject...Bex is working on me :).
I'm excited to see what the next few years hold for you!
Blessings,
Rachel Elisabeth
